Since the dogs have been kenneled a lot lately and running around the house non-stop, we thought it would be a nice treat to go play at the dog park. What were we thinking!! I knew it was hot out but the dogs were so excited to be going to play, we were going to try it anyway. When we arrived at the dog park, there were no other dogs. That never happens. Haleigh was looking for her toy that she carried to the car to bring with her but it evidently didn't make it into the car. We have tried this before and we never seem to get the toy into the car unless I bring it. Haleigh wouldn't have that today and we arrived without the toy. These should of been three huge clues to go home but of course we stayed anyway.
Snickers and Haleigh did their usual "checking out the area and leaving their mark". The dogs love going here because they can run all over without being on the leash and they usually get to play with other dogs. Since Haleigh didn't have her toy to play with, she must of figured out she'd make a game for herself, "rolling in dirt". She does this a lot so I wasn't too surprised she was doing this but I don't understand why she does because she is allergic to it. I called over to her to get her to stop rolling around but she must have forgotten her name so I gathered our things and Snickers and I headed for the gate. (Snickers of course was a great dog today at the dog park.) Once Haleigh saw that she raced over to join us and to my surprise she is caked in mud!! It wasn't dirt like I had thought. What a fun ride home this would be. I called Jon to have him prepared to help me when I got home as Haleigh was going to get her first bath outside. Haleigh did not like the cold water out of the hose and wasn't afraid to share that with us. Once most of the mud was off we went inside for the nice bath with the warm water. Now that Haleigh was clean it was time to clean the car. If dogs go through terrible twos, Haleigh must be in it and Snickers will be shortly.
Note to self: When going to the dog park make sure Haleigh has her toy to play with or you will be giving the dogs baths when you get home.

Yay-you're blogging!
We don't have a dog park, but all the owners take dogs to the baseball fields. Harley has selective hearing as well-must be a boxer thing!
