Well, we received word last week that our siding "is" matchable and a company in Grand Island has it. Both Jon and I couldn't believe it and want to see the siding to tell if it matches before we "settle" for the replacement one. Jon got up last week to remove a piece of siding and I took the piece to work on Thursday so I could stop by the siding place to check it out. I took the siding out of my bag plus I grabbed a corner piece to show as well. (We have individual corners that no one uses anymore.) They guy looked right at it and said, "We can't match that, It's been quite a few years since we carried that brand, 5-8 years????" He showed me what they had and gave me a sample to take with me as well as a statement that says they can't match the siding. Their siding had both a vertical grain as well as the horizontal grain. He also said that he could match the corners as they don't make the steel corner individual edges anymore and if they did, they would be plastic. I then called my adjuster to relay the information and he took the statement and the siding they said matched and sent it back in for review. So we still in the waiting stage. I will post some pictures from
Our contractor is getting upset because he hasn't been able to get started because it all revolves around the siding. We need to pick out the gutters and stuff and we can't do that until we know the color of the siding if we have a chance to switch it. We have already had to switch the shingles we were looking into as they were going to take an additional 10 weeks to get them in after we waited 5 weeks already. Guess it wouldn't have mattered as we can't get started until we pick out the siding. I ended up calling my agent and talking to his secretary about everything that is going on and she was going to look into it and share with Matt. It has been 4 months and you'd think it just happened. Hopefully, we will have a definite answer soon
