Hello from Baby Rood!
If you look closely, it looks like baby is looking at you smiling!
If you look closely, it looks like baby is looking at you smiling!
Well, today was our big day where we went to go find out the gender. Before we get to that, we were informed that the quad screen that they tested last time came back good. The odds are shown for my age group and then the odds based off my blood tests and both times they came back with a huge difference. One test was 1/950 for age and our test was 1/12,000 chance. The quad screen test for spina bifida, down syndrome and other things. We then started the ultrasound, she showed us the heart, spine, ribs, feet, arms, placenta and everything looked good. She did measure the head and a leg bone and then the formula calculator figures out the due date. Based on this measurement, the baby's due date would be July 26 but she kept the due date as the 29th.
Now to the gender, I will post the picture and you can tell if you agree. Baby wouldn't move the legs and was in the breach position which leads to a more difficult time finding out. Nothing the doctor said was very confident in the gender question, in fact she even said not to go and buy stuff just yet. Or at least wait to take the tags off. She said that she didn't see any boy parts so she was going to say it was a girl, but there could be things hidden by the legs. So here is the picture and you can make your own judgement.
Where the arrow is at is where she was going with the girl parts, but not clear enough of me to start buying stuff. We should have another ultrasound to have another look anytime in the next 8 weeks.Basically we found out the answers to the most important questions, the baby is healthy, and the not so important questions are still fuzzy. We are heading to Omaha in the morning for a doctor's appointment with the heart doctor. We will probably see more defined pictures of the babies heart and maybe if we are lucky a peek at the gender!
